| Q: |
Why can't a server be available 100% of the time? |
| A: |
A web server can't offer 100% up time because the up-line carriers don't offer 100% uptime. This is the real world; power outages, construction crews, floods, lightning, train derailments and other possible occurrences "can" and do happen. Even if a hosting company had 20 up-line network providers it is possible a complete power outage or failure of the feed to all up-line providers at an aggregator fails. We've seen it happen in the best of data centers. Our up-line providers offer as much as a 99.999% uptime of network feed, which we avail ourselves to at an extreme cost. Still there are considerations of other unforeseen issues and for seen issues such as maintenance and upgrades that subtract from that magic "100% uptime" goal. Still, we do our absolute best to provide you with the most accessibility to you site as humanly possible. |

| Q: |
Do you block SPAM? If so, how do you do it? |
| A: |
Yes, HostedPro blocks thousands of unsolicited email (SPAM) for our customers. With 85%-90% of all email in the world being SPAM, we would be negligent not blocking SPAM. HostedPro filters all email coming into our servers through a series of databases known as BL, or Blackhole List services. Some of the services blackhole per reported SPAM coming from an IP address, some by DNS failures, some by non-conformity with RFC rules as designated by the Internet community. HostedPro utilizes a mix of these services, currently filtering through the following services:
njabl.org
spamcop.net
spamhaus.org
dsbl.org
abuseat.org
ordb.org
rfc-ignorant.org
HostedPro currently blocks 10's of thousands of SPAM weekly using this method.
We also offer SpamAssassin to further deal with SPAM. Click here to go to our SpamAssassin tutorial.

| Q: |
How do I access my cPanel (control panel) |
| A: |
Accessing your control panel (cPanel) is simple. Open your web browser and enter the URL for your domain in the address bar just like you are going to your web site. If you already have a bookmark, use that. It should look something like http://www.domainname.com/ in your address bar. Now add "cpanel" to the end so it looks like http://www.domainname.com/cpanel and press Enter or click Go (creating a bookmark to your site with "cpanel" on the end will make this easier & faster in the future). You should now see a prompt to enter your username and password, enter those and click OK. You should now be in your cPanel. When you want to logout of your cPanel, click on Logout in the upper right corner of cPanel. you can also access your control panel from the link on www.hostedpro.com and various links throughout the HostedPro web site. |
